Commuting - Wax and Lube

What wax do you use what lube do you use. Breaking from the norm of posts lately, i'm going to ask about the bike you ride.

Prolink chin lube works the best for me. Doesn't gum up and easy to clean. :)

Finish Line Dry Teflon Lube for chain. I clean the chain with Finish Line Multi-degreaser every 100-200 miles.

I use plain white lithium grease on threads and cables.

Automotive cup grease on bearings.

I still haven't waxed my bike, but I guess I should get around to that.

Triflow Dry because it's cheap and everywhere. I had some Pro-link stuff with ceramic coating...I liked it, but it made everything gunky and black. The Triflow is nice, not too sticky, though I do re-apply more often. I don't mind.

ProLink ProGold is what I'm using now. It works really well on the road, and as atombob said, it's easy to clean.

I'm not so fond of ProGold on my MTB. It attracts too much dust.

No wax. I just wipe down my bike with a damp cloth or non-bleach counter wipes when it's dirty.

Lube:
Finish Line Wet when it's rainy.
Finish Line Dry when it's not.

Homebrew,mixture of mineral spirits,Mobil 1 oil,parafin wax.

i use a combination of lithium white grease bought from walmart and mix it with wd40. i have never have to change a chain or have a malfuction before. i don't ride as much as people here until recently but these stuffs actually turned a rusted shut chain and gear back to champs.

here how i do it:
spray the chain with wd40. wipe off with rags. spray again and hose off with water. dry with rags. then paste the grease on the the cassette and spray wd40 once on the grease while back pedal. now pedal forward (assuming your bike is upside down or on the repair stand) and change gear to even out the grease. spray wd40 3 more times while pedaling forward.

DONE.

Used DuPont multi-use lubricant for a while. I'm currently using Triflow. The chain is much quieter, but stays a lot dirtier looking.

I rarely clean my bikes, but when I do, I wash them, then use some Honda "spray cleaner and polish". I had it laying around from my motorcycle days. I don't know that it provides any protection, but it does keep dirt from sticking as much.

mobil 1 is a champ. i put in in an old simple green spray bottle and spray my chain from time to time as it gets pretty hot here. but wd40 mixed with lithium grease seem to stay on a lot longer and protect better while m1 seems to lube better but dries up pretty quick in hot temperature..

TurtleWax- yes, the car stuff. works great.
I use a lot of automotive products in relation to bikes. I even use Mother's Mag and Aluminum polish to polish up metal bits on my bikes.

I've had good luck with Boeshield T9.

I like the new Mcguire NXT Generation Tech Wax 2.0; it provides the best shine for my cars and bicycles I've found.

There is no bad lube except for liquid wax lubes. The secret to long chain life is to make sure your chain is clean and kept clean and oiled with whatever you want to use. I like and went back to after years of trying other stuff to TriFlow because you get a huge can for cheap and it lasts as long and protects as well as the expensive stuff I've tried, but you can use whatever you want and will be safe as long as you keep the chain clean.
