Taxi777 is back ... Woo hoo!!!! This is the first weekend back, so let's do a ride in his honor. Which ride does everyone want to do? I'm going to close this poll at end of the day, so we can decide where the ride will be.

I voted Mt. D, since it's the closest to us, although still a drive away. What day are you thinking? Sunday is Father's Day and cgallagh hasn't decided what he wants to do yet...so many rides, so little time...

vote early, vote often! I went for Calaveras, but any of the rides will work for me - as long as it's on Saturday.

It will still be there when you get back...I hear Tom & Huckleberry may need a day off!

Looks like Mt. Diablo is the popular choice so far.

I haven't done Mt. Diablo, and I don't have a route for it. If this becomes the winner, we will need someone to volunteer a route.

Diablo and Morgan works for me!

Diablo and Diablo work for me. Can't say I'm a fan of that six mile stretch of debris before the parking lot and long descent. Has the day been decided?

I was gonna vote, then I realize I don't even have a road bike this week. DOH!

You're welcome to borrow my Lemond Zurich. We're about the same size. Let me know....

Start in the parking lot behind Peet's Coffee in Danville. I'm doing the Canyon Classic on Saturday, so if this ride is on Sunday I might be able to make it.

Thanks for the offer, truth be told, I'm just too lazy to go to SF to pick it up then come back South for Diablo. Plus, I'm strictly a 2 timing kind of guy, not 3. If Tam wins, I'd have a bike since it starts in SF, but the other half might have other plans for us on sat. Something about going to SAC and shop along the way.

Do you have a route? I'm totally unfamiliar with the area, unless someone else wants to step up to the plate and lead/organize it.

I'd be willing to lead it (although I'd be leading from the back for the most part), although it would have to be on Saturday for it to work for me.

I'd suggest starting at the Pleasant Hill BART station - more convenient for folks who don't want to drive. Let's aim for a 9:30 start? I'll pull together a route with turn by turn directions and good re-group points if everyone wants to do Morgan Territory/Diablo. A friend showed me a way to bypass Ygnacio almost entirely, which would be a good thing.

I agree with the start at PH Bart. That gives us an option to bypass Diablo if it get's to hot...but after doing the Davis I think I can handle up to a 110 degrees before fading:twitchy:...John you're the training ride leader (proof below) so I'm fine with that. I'm in the just follow mode and would like to hang out with everyone, I got a new camera yesterday!

I'd like to, I lost track of the day though is it Sat or Sun?

Earned a few hall pass points from the wife this week so chances are good, and I live only a mile from PH Bart.

Don't count on me for Morgan Territory though.

Also - just got done with a major overhaul to the Quantum Pro and he looks SHARP! (white bar tape too)

Seems like the general consensus is for Saturday. If the heat is oppressive than I'm sure they'll be some flexibility for shortening up the ride. I'm not sure what the details are, I'm blindly following Ron, and Jon...which is fine with me!:)

Cool. Do you have a route sheet, or something on bikely or mapmyride?

Not yet - my friend just sent me the directions that bypasses a lot of Ygnacio, which makes for a nicer start to the ride. I'll put it into one of the mapping programs tonight. Expect 70 miles and 7,000 feet of climbing if we do Morgan plus summit Mt. D. Bring spare tubes - Morgan Territory can be rough on tires.
