I think it's good that a lot of people are getting interested in flatland. It makes BMX more interesting.

I don't think flatland and interesting can be used in the same sentence.

And you can flatland???? You don't understand how much balance it takes.

Yep.
And I know someone else quoted this not long ago, but i'll say it again, flatland is like golf, too hard to learn, and boring to watch.
Peace out.

Good flatland entertains me a lot. Flatland is the reason I got into BMX, and even though I don't really BMX anymore, it's still my favorite type of freestyle. Beyond that, I like good technical street riding. But really, I'd much rather watch somebody do something requiring a lot of precise skill, like flatland. Watching somebody "go big" on the same 3 moves is, in my opinion, the real bore. I recognize that there is also talent involved in that sort of riding, but if it's mostly all about muscles and a low self-preservation factor, it doesn't so much appeal to me.

And if we really want to talk boring, dirt jumping puts me to sleep. I respect it, and I understand why it's probably really fun to do, but I can't see a point to watching it.

You sir, are a fool.

No sir, I am not a fool. I was not speaking of ALL street/dirt riding when I said that. I'm merely talking about a certain type of it. I ALWAYS enjoy somebody doing something technically difficult, ALWAYS. But in my estimation, a lot of the most celebrated riding is the daredevel stuff. And while there is always a necessary base level of skill involved in this sort of stuff, All I'm saying is that I'd rather watch somebody do some technically sophisticated stuff at low risk than watch somebody backflip off a roof into rush hour traffic.

haha, so true, i flatlanded and bmxed, loved both, but flatlanding was something of its own, took so much concentration and balance. dang goods times
