Do not like clipless pedals.
The Welgo MG-1 (and I would assume those that are similar) provide almost all of the benefits of clipless. You can push forward at the top, down in front and back at the bottom. You cannot concentrate on smoothly circling your feet but they work pretty well.
For those who haven't seen this type of pedal, it is a platform unlike the regular road bike platform with pins or spikes sticking up to engage the bottom of your shoes. Its sort of like standing on a verry agressive door mat.
They have no built in float however and every now and again you have to pick up your foot and put it down again in a slightly different position.
They stick to your shoes well enough though that in a moment of carelessness you could become a member of.....................................Club Tombay. I suppose that a special chapter of the club could be formed to accomodate "felony failure to unclip from a platform pedal"
Just Sayn.
