Southeast - South Florida charty rides?

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

They seem few and far between. We should just start our own. :)
I love living in South Florida (Palm Beach Gardens) but I hate riding down here. There is such little organization that I am aware of. Lot's of people ride during the weekday mornings which is not easy for people with jobs.
My friends in Va. seem to have about 10 organized rides to every 1 we have.
And what's with that list including events in Georgia and Alabama. The last time I checked, those were a good distance aways.
Where do you live?

Looks like SoFL has one event at the end of the month (reg. fees going to MADD) and NOTHING for the rest of the summer, which I suppose can be blamed on the heat, but that seems like more of a rationalization than a proper excuse.
I'm in Lake Worth. I see a lot of riders around early Saturday mornings, but I'm one of those weekday morning clowns you mentioned. I know of one organized riding group associated with the Bicyclery shop attached to Army/Navy/Outdoors south of Okeechobee. I think their Saturday ride departs from lake worth or boynton beach. There's also a sort of ad-hoc group that used to meet up in Wellington, too. don't know if that's still going on.
My impression of riding in PBG is that most cyclists either go it alone or with their SO, not so much in larger groups.
