First, a note to all the forum etiquette police: the search function is down, ok? I tried.

Anyway, I'm not getting into triathlons, but I would like to go swimming after or during my rides. So, I'm looking for a good budget tri short. It only needs to be passable in the swimming department, but I'd like it to be pretty comfortable for longish rides. Any suggestions?

I've had both PI and Voler. Both suited me. I quite like my Cofides trisuit - it's fantastic, but it's not shorts and I'm not sure if they're available in the US.

If it is a pool swim, check to see if the shorts are ok with chlorine. Older PI shorts have a warnig against exposure to chlorine. Also be aware the insert in tri shorts is usually much thinner than cycling shorts.
