Hey Gang - Ok - No pictures so this may be boring and worthless:twitchy:...but I do enjoy the forum and look forward to coming here and reporting. Well - today was supposed to be a hilly, tough ride around Stone Mountian a few times with the Southern Bicycle League (SBL) - but alas a nail in my car tire derailed that plan. Got the tire fixed... (I was so proud...I took it to the shop - does not sound like a major accomplishment - but I am happy I did not mearly fill it with air- but had it checked out).

Ok - so then an hour later I am ready....OK I decided to go to the Silver Comet trail - as I had missed the SBL group.... And went off to ride. Now there was an incident a few years back that spooks me...but I decided to ride out...(http://atfiles.org/files/pdf/SilverCometMurder.pdf)

Set off and then met a fellow rider who agreed to join me and we rode together. That was nice... So we went a total of 32.6 miles round trip approx 2:23 min!! Occasionally, I tried to see what drafting was all about by riding behind him...Amazing it was easier... The ride in general was a lot easier than my ride the other day - 26 miles on roads. The bike path is very flat. OK my butt or those "Sit bones" or near there :o hurts a tad...had to stand up on the bike a bit on the way back.....(Does that get better???)

Anyway I feel like I have come along way in the past week
- Did not fall today or the other day - managed to clip in and out.
- Today did not get nauseous
- The 33 mile ride was a lot easier and enjoyable than my first ride of 22 miles. Between being worried about clippping in and cars and "Could I make it?" It was really nice this ride to just go!

OK - I think my vacation ends next week and I may set of to a Project in Houston sans Bike so will be a weekend rider perhaps. We shall see if I get a project. If not - I will keep riding every other day.

Wegiht Loss Since April 21 13 pounds of which 5 pounds was after I started pedaling...Sure wish I did not have to work for a living... just ride and lose weight sounds good!

No, pics. OK, go away and don't come back till you get some!:roflmao2:...Man, you are one tough cookie, rackin' them miles like collectin' apples!:D

As far as the butt and sit bones, It goes away with more saddle time. If you take a lay off of a couple of weeks, you may feel it again for a bit.

BUT! Most bikes are sold with stock (just to get by) saddles. Only enough to get them out the door. Everybody prefers something different. Y9u may have to try a few to find what you like. If you have a Performance store near you, they let you ride them for a couple of weeks. If you don't like it, take it back no problem.

The pics of your bike looks like you have a good saddle but not sure of the model. Even so, you could have a $500 saddle and it not work for you. If you have friends, maybe borrrow different models.

Some you might try are Terry Butterfly, WTB (model?) and the Specialized Dolce gel (my wife's love).

There is a thread down the way about Athena saddle rec's, maybe check it out?
