After about an hour on the bike the Endorphines are flowing freely and I am feeling no pain. I feel euphoric and even forget that I'm pedaling my bicycle. During these times my mind wanders and I fantasize that I'm riding my bike in a post apocalyptic nightmare world populated by Zombies. My fear of Zombies fills me with panic and I hammer like a mad man and ride real fast. I imagine the Zombies are chasing me and I am riding like my life depended on it.

Do any of you guys dream up funny stuff while you ride? Funny things that make you ride harder?

Nope, nothing like that. If I'm my usual bike path I just get lost in the music and ride.

I'm slow, but fortunately, I've watched enough zombie movies to know I could outrun them on my 20" unicycle, or even in a sack race. Come to think of it, that might be good motivation in a long distance sack race, thinking "Mustn't rest too long here, or the zombies will catch up!"...unless of course, the zombies were in sacks, too.

You have been watching waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay too many late night, waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay too bad, horror flicks... I ride on the road, I am too busy trying to keep from being run over by idiot cagers, many of whom should know better :notamused:

Yeah, most Zombies kinda shuffle along and some may even drag a foot. But in some movies the Zombies are super athletic and turn 4 minute miles, all day long. Those are the kind of Zombies I'm talking about. Not the Shufflers.

Also sometimes I'm racing to get away from a subterranean "Graboid" monster, from the movie Tremors. The adrenalin kicks in and I get real worried and pedal like there's no tomorrow.

I know you guys try to act all well adjusted and what not, but I know I'm not the only rider out there doing this.

Could be worse, when I need an imaginary sprint coach I pretend I'm being chased by Pauly Shore.

Well I watch riders up the road. Wonder if, and how long it will take me to catch them. Some ride like zombies. That's about as close as it gets!:D

Try a trip on the abandoned PA turnpike and start entertaining thoughts of zombies, and then bike on into the two unlit tunnels. It helps if you are alone and haven't seen a soul for miles...

Let me know how that works out for you!

When you get to the next level you'll start looking for racks for your bike that will allow you to mount an ATV rifle scabbard.

One of the first warning signs is when you think a .50 cal ammo can would make a nice trunk bag for a rear rack. Yes, I'm seriously considering it. It will even match my Army green bike.

Oops, I guess it's M855 .223, not .50. Whatever.
Yes, I know it'll be heavy. And I know there's something wrong with me.

The zombie you have pictured is definitely the slow shuffle-along variety, easily outrun unless you get your heel stuck in a crack or fall down or something.

Just once, I'd like to see a zombie movie where the zombies are chasing the guy and he's walking away reading a newspaper.

When I do a loop of the city at night there's a few sketchy places that scare me - I keep thinking there's someone that could ambush me (very dark, plenty of hiding spots). Surprisingly if it happened it would take a long time for someone to find my body, it's pretty secluded in the woods.

I reccomend 14 days later or the scene from the recent Dawn of the Dead where some zombies got a jogger listening to an iPod. See, fatal distractoin :p

Waaaayyyyy too much idle time is a bad thing.......:twitchy:

Besides, Zombies are the least of your worries, it's the infected dogs from Resident Evil that are behind the next bush you should be worried about MWAAAAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!!!!!

OK, time for bed........
