*** This poll is about you voting for your favorite DESSERT pie ***
Remember, these polls have a maximum of 10 choices. I browsed the menus of 3 pie shops to construct 9 different major types of pies, leaving the option of Other available.
If your favorite pie is close to one of these categories, please vote for that general type of pie.
For example, if I loved Cranberry-Walnut pie, I would vote for "Berry" as the primary flavor is the cranberry, which is a type of berry pie.
Only one vote is allowed ... that's what makes this a toughie!
w/wo means with or without.

What!?!?
I pity you.
You've never eaten blackberry pie? Or cranberry walnut? Or blueberry pie? Or brambleberry (which is a combo of berries served at Perkins Restaurants)?
You have been missing out on one of life's pleasures.

Okay, I selected Key Lime / Lemon. The answer is Key Lime, but it must be authentic. Real Key Lime is not bright green. More of a pastel. It was sort of a toss up because I also love pecan when done right, but unlike Key Lime I don't seem to be able to just look at a pecan pie and tell if it is "right" or not. Besides... I'm a Florida boy and gotta stick up for the local fare. Proper Key Lime pie is mighty nice stuff.
Apple and Rhubarb in the summer. Pumpkin on Thanksgiving. Key Lime when in Florida. Lemon Merengue here and there. And I know I've had some kind of Chocolate pie at some point. Oh....and there's cheesecake! That's a pie, right? I like cheesecake...

But those might fall into a different type.
Such as a pesto pizza could be considered a type of nut pie.
I'm not going to yield easily.

Yum! One of our ride leaders has a get together at his house each year for homemade pie and ice cream. His wife always makes a strawberry-rhubarb pie.
Have you tried any of them in a pie:rolleyes::twitchy:
With all the great new smilies, there's none for barfing.:p
Choctaw style stove top BLACKBERRY COBBLER (some call it dumplin). With or without ice cream.

Apple pie varies greatly depending upon what kind of apples are used. I love apple pie made from Northern Spy apples ... that I grow in my back yard.

Louis wishes to report that they have a very "earthy" flavor, similar to his famous rabbit berry pie.

It's not the filling it's the crust. Whole wheat pastry flour, lard, water and salt.

A few CA pie shops have chocolate chip cookie pie. The crust is standard cookie mix and the filling is like a pecan pie filling with a lot of chocolate bits mixed in instead of pecans.

I can't even imagine* raspberry pie. It sounds like it would be really, really sweet. The only way I can think of these berry pies are those little pies we used to buy when we were kids that came in the paper envelope. I don't remember what flavors they were... I remember there was a vanilla....but I think there were some that had kind of a thick jelly in them that may have been blueberry?
Come to think of it. I can't believe there IS a raspberry pie. It cost $3 for a little pint of raspberries. A raspberry pie would cost....like $70 to make!

You can make them really sweet, if you add a lot of sugar. But most of the raspberry pies I've had have been pretty tart. Raspberries are much less sweet than strawberries.
I've had raspberry pie, raspberry tarts, raspberry scones, raspberry cobbler, and more. Why I even have a nice raspberry patch in my back yard. I love fresh raspberries sprinkled on granola, yogurt, and ice cream.
I added a comment to my post about raspberry pies....how much do you think one would cost to make if you didn't grow your own raspberries and you bought them fresh? Or frozen, I guess... I've never made pie so I don't know if it matters. If it tastes as good, then how much to make one from either fresh or frozen berries?

Custard. There's no custard on your list. That is just wrong.
A custard pie would be a cream pie. That is if you are talking about a vanilla-type custard pudding, instead of frozen custard ice cream. I have coconut cream listed, that's just a form of a coconut-flavored custard.
And, by the way, what's with the apple pie with CHEESE?????? Is that a Wisconsin cheese-head thing?
I know there's a certain kind of cheese that Italians eat on an apple slice, but I forget what kind that is. But I'm imagining some kind of weird velveeta melted over apple pie.

Hostess Fruit pies.....
Fried pies with some sort of nuclear waste labeled "artificial flavoring."
I think the pudding flavors were discontinued.

No, it's an old English tradition. Apple pie with a slice of cheddar on it.
