Fell victim to the rotor incident today, and may I say it hurt badly. Won't let that happen again.

Was working on the rear brake, when my father comes across and spins the rear wheel, he did not notice that I was working on the rear brake, he only realized when I yelled out in pain.

Sorry to hear that Danka. Hope the surgery and healing goes well.
A buddy of mine lost a couple of fingers in high school in shop class and regained almost full movement in his digits, hope you do the same.

DOUBLE DITTO for that- although I can't see how you'd have much time to run for the digicam once the tip got sliced off though. :(

Hang in there, Danka! I see it hasn't affected your typing abilities at all! :D

You could make warning out of that man, Put a pic of your finger on a backround and write on it, Watch your fingers in your rotors...

Hopefully something a bit more original than that lol.

The internet has desensitized me. A cut off finger is nothing compared to some of the stuff I've seen.

I wacked my finger a couple of months ago about the same way. I caught most of the impact with my fingernail, so it just cut a (very neat) gash on the end of my finger.

Good luck with your finger. I'll bet your dad feels really bad.

I feel for you man! I lost the end of my right pinkie when I was a kid right below the fingernail. They could not re attach so they coderized it and sent me on my merry way  The pain I can still feel it  Wierd there was enough of a root left my nail grew back. I used to tell my nephews I lost it to a bear when I worked in Alaska :D

And it makes a most excellent guitar pick

Ow! Damn. I hope they can get it put back together. I'll be sure to keep my fingers away from the rotors from now to eternity...

hope the finger gets better- did the index myself cutting, tried my own brand of fix. didn't work and the end, 1\3 attached, died. Umm, had to finish my botched job- won't describe. Hope your dad didn't feel too bad, ( unless you wanted him to- WAAAAAAA!.... ..WAAAAAAAAAAA! )
Funny thing, as a parent, the amount of time spent between waaas is the guage of the severity of wound- you hear the big suck of air between the first and second, you reach for the med kit.
