Foo - Sick again! (Rant)

Well, not exactly a rant, but I'm getting tired of being sick- I'm not sure if it's because the seasons are changing so drastically or what, but I'm headed back to the doctor's- hopefully tomorrow afternoon, and I'm going to have them test me for strep. I'm getting paranoid that there's something more wrong with me than I can imagine. Today, I just feel like my throat is about to go really sore- it's gone all husky and tight, so I'm just sucking down those lozenges and drinking lots of water and orange juice.

I got sick from the first round of antibiotics the last time I got sick, so I had to stop taking them. I'm just hoping like crazy I don't have that cold again- that will really suck.

or Cold eze

Two different products that are basically the same thing ... zinc gluconate.

Zicam comes as a spray or lozenge. Cold Eze is a lozenge. I vote for the spray. Each is remarkably effective in reducing the duration of the common cold by killing the viral population in the mouth/throat. These products are most effective when used VERY EARLY in the course of the cold (you know the feeling, when your throat begins to get a little sore).

Much better than chicken soup. Not just hype! They actually work.

I think you gave me what you have, Koffee. I have had the whole sore throat/coughing/hoarse voice/feverish thing for ten days now! I get two weeks off from school, and it looks like I will be sick the whole time!

Get well, Koffee. Maybe the doc can come up with another antibiotic that won't make you sick to take them!

This time, I believe I got this from the kids- I've been with my nephews (6 and 4) since Christmas Eve at their house, then on Christmas, they came to my place to stay until Saturday night. I noticed the young one had some sniffles, and I asked if he had a cold. He said no, but I think it was because we were going to the Winter Wonderland Festival, and they knew they'd be playing all day, so I just believed him. I should have known better. :(

I'll get that spray stuff as soon as possible. Thanks for the advice and well wishes!

Children should be seen, from afar when sick!

I actually had similar symptoms yesterday, but a heavy regimen of Jack and Cokes followed up with a dinner of 4 glasses of OJ and Campbell's chicken soup. And today is that much more bearable. I am in decent shape, so illness rarely puts me out of action for too long.

No Trader Joes. But I did get that Zicam. I sprayed it in my mouth, and it just was sooooooo foul I almost gagged, but the funny thing was that I haven't coughed since, and my throat feels like it's healing or something.

It's a funky taste, though. Bleah!

to bad. Trader Joe's has some drink called "Combat" made from a myraid of fruit juices ~ it's gritty, but it's got tons of Vitamen C and other junk. That and some of that tylenol gel caps fixed me up gooood.

Stick with it ... and follow the directions. You'll be good as new in no time.

I find thaat Grapefruits/grapefruit juice works best of the jucies. And lots of water and chicken soup.

The suggestion that you need rest may be a good one too. You are in too good a shpae to get sick.

As for Docs - usually go when I'm carried in.
