Alt Bike Culture - Freakbikes that use non-bike stuff in them?

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

I'm doing a research project: Freakbikes that use equipment that is not from a bike. Some examples would be my Long Chainey or AZ's overkill (tire wheel), Chunk's amphibious quad (squirrel fan), or a bedframe tallbike.

Can you think of any more?

There was an Austin Craigslist ad a while back for a recumbent that used parts of a shopping cart. And of course, people have combined bicycles and shopping carts, I think there's an instructable on that.

And if you look at the mobile art-type shows, there's all kinds of things that might or might not be considered bicycles that incorporate everything you can imagine.

oooh, great idea for a thread.

too bad the only ones i can think of all come back to you, payphone.

my favorite, tho, would have to be that tallbike made out of junk, all welded together and looking barely ridable...

Back in the 70's I used a piece of manure spreader frame to make my first low rider AKA recumbent, after I saw the Ground Hugger in Popular Mechanics magazine.
