I didn't even think about it before but yeah, the cartoonist has a good point. With gas prices getting so high, cagers are finally refusing to drive cyclists to the MUP anymore. They should have put in one of those caption balloons to make it clearer. "Hey Lance... ride to the MUP yourself. Have you seen the price of gas lately? Your free ride is over!" And there's the cyclists sweating beads of panic at the thought of having to ride up a hill.

Seriously, sometimes it seems like you have to force cyclists to ride their bikes at gunpoint. Have you ever seen a MUP parking lot? They are packed with SUVs that cyclists use to drive their bikes to the rail trail. Now, with the high price of gas, they with have to ride their bikes to the rail trail for a change.

Nah, I disagree. I think you were mislead by the thread title. These things happen though, nothing to be ashamed about. Cartoons, by nature, are left to the audiences' personal interpretation. But it's quite obvious that the cyclist' wife is forcing him to ride on his own.

There are those of us who ride our bikes to go somewhere. There are others who go somewhere to ride their bikes.

Cute cartoon. I haven't felt endangered yet by an SUV driver wanting to "jack" my ride, but who knows in a few months when it cools down again.
