Terrible. Absolutely horrible. Worse than War of the Worlds. Do not waste your money on it. You will regret it.
I saw it with a group a friends (all girls(I was the only guy)) and, of course, I was sitting in the middle of them. Anyways, the theater the packed. There was a noticeable difference in reaction between the guys and girls. Guys thought it was funny. Girls were flippin out. But it was still lame lame lame. The whole plot line is the trees release a toxin that makes people kill themselves and human presence is what sets it off. But it only happens in the North East (sorry, New Yorkers). And then it stops after only 24 hours. And then the movie ends with this human-toxin being released everywhere and everyone kills themselves. And the way they explained how the toxin worked didn't even make sense. It was a lame lame movie. Do not see it.

I was prolly gonna go see Hulk tonight anyway, but that's kind of an a**hole thing to do.

Thanks man... your shorter more concise post (and name recognition) saved me from the OP...
You = martyred. :beer:
So... does anyone else think this movie isn't worth the two hours of life and 8 bucks to see it? It seems like most of his other movies have real good potential all the way up until the ending..... :mad:

Me!!! The acting, directing, dialogue, screenplay and everything else was bad...like amateur bad. Don't waste your time even if it's free.
I walked into the theater not even knowing what movies were out and this was my only choice besides Iron Man and The Incredible Hulk. I'm not the biggest fan of comic movies so I opted for The Happening. I saw that Mark Wahlberg was in it so I figured it had to be good. I figured wrong. There was nothing good about the film.
Anyways, how did you not like the village? I thought the ending was awsome.

I'm the kind of person who is disappointed if the monsters turn out to be something other than monsters - so I was disappointed with the village.
btw. my friend who is an M. Shamalamoalon fan said that he saw this movie 'the happening' - and he said that it was really terrible too... not because of the premise, or because of the ending - but just because in general it was a terrible movie (even for a "B movie" he said) .. so it seems to be the general consensus. He also said that the hulk was really good tho -- as good or better than the Iron man, and that Indiana Jones sucked - he compared it to "the mummie" movies (which I have not seen btw).

Some of the worst acting I've seen in a big movie. I've seen junior high school plays with better dialog than this. Marky Mark was really annoying in this too..
