I did it, a double climb of Mt. Diablo. First climb from the Southgate took 1h 25' without a stop. The second from the Northgate took 1h 38' (riding time) but included about 3 stops, the first at the junction for some fresh water, and a couple more on the way up to the summit. The ramp at the end of the second climb was very, very tough.
A scary moment when a squirrel hit my front wheel while descending Northgate Road. I first thought I had flatted until I realized tire and wheel were fine. Thankfully the beast might have hit the rim.
I hope to be able to ride a triple climb in a couple of weeks and I should be ready for the Death Ride.

Mileage: 44.94
Ride Time: 4:04:05
Total Time: 4:33:15
Total Ascent: 6718'
Max Speed: 36.61
Avg. Speed: 11.05 (ouch!!!)

When will we see you out on the road again? We were talking about you on today's ride, and we miss you.

Awww, thanks, I miss you guys too. I'll be traveling the next couple of weekends, but should be at both the Tandem rally and the folder fest.

Good climb! I was asking my own bad self "Self, could you do two Diablos"?
I'm going to have to find out sometime.
