I'm converting my Country Road Bob from fixed to geared, and I've hit a snag with the front derailleur. The bike is set up for top pull cable routing, and I have a compact double road crank along with bottom pull Dura-Ace FD. Is there a device that would allow me to use a bottom pull FD with a top pull cable routing?

I've got a spare XT FD, but the clamp diameter is too large, and I don't think it would work with a road double anyway.

thx, eric

you can get adapters for the XT FD. Have your LBS check there suppliers. You can also get lower end dérailleurs that will work either as top pull or bottom pull, just a matter of cable routing.

There is a pully assembly for cyclocross bikes that goes at the bottom of the seatpost below the derailleur and reverses a cable coming down from above so that it goes back up into the bottom pull derailleur. The clamp will be seatpost size specific, just like an older derailleur clamp.
