A friend convinced me to come out to visit in Wichita for a few days, since I've never been there. I'm bringing the road bike along and am hoping that the weather in the land of oz cooperates. I'm looking for a good 30-40 mile ride, preferably something that I can start from the east side of town. Any suggestions?

I don't know the east side all that well AND have not bee there for a while....however, if you don't mind transporting to the west side, 21st street west when you get past the business part has a wide shoulder all the way out for about 20 miles,,,and does not have much traffic. I think there is a church or two close to the YMCA that you might 'borrow' the parking lot for your car while you ride.
East side has a bike path that is fairly long but you have to deal with crossing traffic and lights, again other than that or riding major streets beyond residendial areas?? Hope this helps a little.
