It's hot. It's humid. And the forecast doesn't show any relief. What's a person to do? Slap on the sunscreen and go ride your bike! And I'm glad I did. I ran across block parties, street fairs, open hydrants (can you spell RELIEF?), good music, loads of good street eats, and lots of good looking people.

So what'd you see that tickled a pleasant memory or made you happy you were on your bike?

I was out riding the weekend before last with the 94 degree temps and forgot the suntan lotion! haha. got a bit toasty but not that bad. Didn't intend to be out that long but it got me. I saw a block party on Windsor PL. and found a multi-tool on bedford on the way back from FBF. I was praying for a hydrant! haha.

I also checked out the RC planes at floyd. pretty nice.

Coming back from Gimbels with my buddies two weeks ago; remember that Sunday that was really, really hot? Riding down the Concourse, we found an open fire hydrant and bathed in the cool water. It was totally A.

On Saturday I did a loop of Manhattan island, then over the bridge to Williamsburgh where I met up with some friends. Then we all rode down to Prospect Park for one of the best hiphop shows I've seen in months. Sunday I rode to Williamsburgh to the vinyl fair at Warsaw (mmmm beer and kielbasa...) and then to McCarren Park Pool to see the Hold Steady.

got rained on a lot, got drunk a lot, got dirty, got satisfied. :)

Eddie, man that took me back...
I know you guys weren't even born yet, but...
1972
- we had our first block party on E 5th Street
- the band was playing Smoke on the Water by Deep Purple
- we ate and drank ourselves into oblivian and then tried to stay out all night riding our bikes...
BTW they were Schwinn StingRays; one guy had the best StingRay - a five speed; back then that ruled!
