Hi everyone!! My name is James, and I am kind of new to the mountain bike side of cycling, but not new to bicycles, as I have owned either a hybrid or road bike since I was a teen (well, I was 14 when my parents got me a Schwinn with a BIG banana seat in red with yellow and white lettering and I'm 32 now...how time flies...hehe). Well, I just won a 1997 Cannondale M700 in Galaxy Blue on eBay about a month ago, in great shape too, and have been slowly upgrading some of the parts and adding other accessories. I am currently looking at swapping out the stock CODA 900 saddle currently on there to a softer model, and also plan to get a lighting system and possibly tubeless tires put on the bike soon, which will probably used for a commuting one and for occasional trail use, so I don't miss not having suspension. Since my purchase, I have bought an Enduro 2 cyclecomputer (silver) and installed it myself, and also have a new helmet, as I have been in some near accidents, so I am a very big supporter on helmets. In my past, I have been in a few races...I'm actually not from Kentucky originally but from northern California (long story). Three years ago, I had a Cannondale H300 from the same year as my bike...and it also was a very similar colour (just a bit lighter and was a matte colour) as well...lifted (stolen) from my parents' garage (only one of five that were in there)...the police never found it...and as it was my baby and one of the last pieces of when I lived in Missouri (though the bike itself was bought in Kansas), I was very unhappy for days after the event, and had no idea I'd ever had the opportunity to get another Cannondale so similar to the one Ihad taken from me. Well, I will look forward to meeting some of you...have a great day and thanks for reading this!!

James, welcome!

I just bought a Cannondale M500, but I'm unsure of the year. I bought it NOS about a week ago, I think it's a 1998, but the ones as old as 1996 look like mine. Hmmm.

I have family in Missouri, too. It's a beautiful state (Don't know much about Ky (he he he))

Happy riding!
