Fifty Plus (50+) - I think EVERYONE should leave the 50+ Forum

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

I think EVERYONE should leave the 50+ Forum
I mean, why should just a few have that privilege?
I BELIEVE IN EQUAL LEAVING!
Just sayin!
Hey. I recognize this. This is when everyone says, "Hey! Let's go to the Mall!" and we all get our coats on, and we put our shoes on, and after I walk out the door, someone locks it behind me.
Nope. Not falling for it.

I recognize this - another veiled attempt to get ride of me! It ain't gonna happen until either I start the 12 steps to rid myself of addiction or ski season starts (and then it'sonly temporary).
I've been tricked before - like the time my brother told me at school that we moved and I needed to go home to a different house - or the time he told me I was adopted and my real parents were comming to get me. Family can be so cruel:cry:

Door? What door? I can't find my glasses. Where the heck am I?

Geez, how did I miss all this stuff? I just went back and read all of the torque thread, the friendliness thread and a couple of related ones. (Waiting for the temp to get above 55 so I can ride). Seems like I have been paying too much attention to the wind and not enough to the forum. But in all seriousness, I think that things have not been so bad that anyone should leave. Most of what has been said is now water under the wrench and almost none of it could be construed as "personal" enough to drive anyone away.
My two cents.
I'm staying and will continue:cheers::cheers::cheers: to enjoy the wisdom of the 50+ crowd.

That's what I think too. In fact, I left yesterday and I'm never coming back!

Hello, I must be going,
I cannot stay, I came to say, I must be going.
I’m glad I came, but just the same I must be going.
La La.
(Mrs. Rittenhouse)
For my sake you must stay.
If you should go away,
You’d spoil this party I am throwing.
(Captain Spaulding)
I’ll stay a week or two,
I’ll stay the summer thru,
But I am telling you,
I must be going.
(All)
Before you go,
Will you oblige us,
And tell us of your deeds so glowing?
(Captain Spaulding)
I’ll do anything you say,
In fact I’ll even stay!
(All)
Good!
(Captain Spaulding)
But I must be going.

If everyone left...then who would use the 50+ forum? The road cycling crew?? They could talk about us and no one would know!
Since I'm 60+ I don't have to go. The 60+rs will stick around and talk about the 50+rs that have left!

That would leave me here all by my lonesome. :( And I'm not even 50 yet. So that really doesn't count.

Yep. That reminds me of a trick I pulled on my son a couple of years ago.
He pestered the crap out of me to go to Disney World, which I cannot afford to do.
So one day we got in the car. "I'm taking you to Disney World!" I shouted. He was thrilled.
I drove around for about two hours and then pulled into an old abandoned warehouse at the other end of town.
"Oh no!", I cried, "They burned down Disney World!".
My son cried and cried, but deep down I think he thought it was pretty funny.
I would never do stuff like that now. Gas is way too expensive to drive anywhere for two hours.

I didn't know my brother was here :-) Sorry I did those things...
(or maybe other older brothers did it to other younger brothers)

Everyone should leave the 50+ forum only long enough to go out and have an adventure or two on their bikes, then come back to the 50+ forur to report the details. How far, how many feet of climbing (or kilos if you're Euro), how did you feel and what kind of pie did you have, anyway?

I don't think ANYBODY should leave!
I've been away for two or three weeks, and now I'm so far behind with the local gossip that I don't think I'll EVER catch up!

I've frequented several forums where for one reason or another someone will post they are leaving for this or that reason. My reaction is usually to think "why are they telling us they are leaving" why not just go for a while and maybe lurk around to see if the tone or subject of the particular forum changes to where they want to come back? Seem like at least to me its a guilt trip being laid on the forum as a whole. Am I being too simplistic? Why make a fuss just go and come back if you want and if not don't. Not trying to be a wise guy just wondering thats all. I have found this forum to be informative and I have nearly fallen out of my chair at some of the posts it doesn't seem to be that argumentative [sp] or unfriendly at all.

Are you sure you won't come along? We're going on a snipe hunt and were planning on letting you hold the bag. :innocent:
In one way I agree with sTringbreaker...OTOH people are people and when a group of people get to know one another, even electronicaly, I suppose they want to let their intentions be known, good or bad.
IF everyone left then anybody could come in and everybody would wonder what happened because anybody was doing what everyone used to do...
If everyone left, who would know?:twitchy:

Streets full of people
All alone
Roads full of houses
Never home
Church full of singing
Out of tune
Everyone's gone to the moon
Eyes full of sorrow
Never wet
Hands full of money
All in debt
Sun coming out in
The middle of June
Everyone's gone to the moon
Long time ago
Life has begun
Everyone went to the sun
Cars full of motors
Painted green
Mouths full of chocolate
Covered cream
Arms that can only
Lift a spoon
Everyone's gone to the moon
Everyone's gone to the moon
Everyone's gone to the moon
