Bicycle Mechanics - cassette

I'm planning to purchase a 8 speed cassette. I have a setup of sram 9.0 long cage der, shimano lx front der, and 44 32 22 chain ring. My question is which cassette do i buy, 11-28 11-30 11-32, and what is the difference? Thanks for your help.

You can pretty much use any of those cassettes..

11-28 means it has a gear range of 11T to 28T. same applies for all..

11-28 (11-13-15-17-19-21-23-25-28) is used on most hybrids.. The 2T increments means a more gradual intensities/speed.

11-30 and 11-32 are mostly used by MTBs.. The 30T-32T means more climbing ability..

For the road 11 - 28 , for the hills 11 - 32 as you can´t have too low a gear riding the dirt and the 32 will allow you to keep a cadence at times where a 28 willl get you wheel spin , but most important : remember to oil your chain , frequently .If it´s sandy then use a dry lube but lubricate because a worn chain kills everything ,so get it checked frequently or buy a wear guage yourself .

What do you have now? Do you find that the selection you currently have works, or are you constantly wishing for something a little harder/easier than what you have on your current cassette? Do you "run out" of either high or low gears? That is what you should use to make a correct selection. With a long cage derailleur, you should have no problem on the large side (my short cage Campy Mirage has a limit of 27T, and I run a 13-26 8 speed cassette), but check with SRAM for any size limitations.
