Nice bike! How does one go about attaching a sprocket to one of those outrunner motors? Can it be done without a machine shop's help?

Not knowing how to put a sprocket on the motor or make a motor mount are the biggest things that have kept me from trying an RC motor for my bike. (although I feel like since I have access to a drill and a jigsaw that'll cut metal, maybe it'd be easy to find a piece of angle aluminum I could cut into a motor mount.

The RPM needs to be reduced. These motors run far to fast to merely mount a sprocket to the shaft and drive the wheel.

Unfortunately, I cannot think of any easy way to use a motor like this without machining ability and equipment. :(

I was a fun build and it is running fine. I have 100 miles on it so far.

But for the non-techie like me..... way out of my league to even begin to think about. One question though, with all the added hardware (and weight increase) how does it feel under pedal power? I'm curious about that since I have a ActionBent JetStream II.

I cannot tell there is any added equipment at all. It is all centrally located and low. Plus there is only 16 or 17 pounds of equipment on it. I can pedal it 28 mph with pedal power alone and sustain 20+ with pedal power alone. There is no drag or weight penalty felt at all.
