Hi!
We're visiting Idaho - and would like to ride LOTS this week. Suggestions/recommendations for the BEST in the area? 30-80 miles on road, 10-30 off road!
:-)

I was out there for work last summer; great riding area. Limited road opportunities, but head straight east from Sun Valley (on the only road) and it cimbs...forever. It turns to gravel after awhile but just keeps on going. I think I did 40 or so and the ride back was FAST. You can also head north on the main drag, I saw riders all the way up by Redfish Lake on that road, way way north. Fast cars but from what I recall a decent shoulder and they do get over for you mostly. I saw lots of roadies out there. For trails you can ride all over Bald Mtn. I hiked it but never rode it, fire trails all over the thing and 5k ft of elev gain to the 9300 ft summit. Good times. Best work trip ever.
One note; after hiking down at 10 PM there is NO food available in Ketchum or SV. They roll up the streets and the bars don't serve meals (workers can't afford to live there; imagine that). So finish early or plan to eat in your room if you get back after 10. We were forced to raid the local 711 for micro burros and slim jims with chips and beer. Not bad fare for a 23 year old...which I'm not.
