He is a she and I don't know why my message didn't post. What I asked: is there anyone out here that put a bionx on a rans stratus le and if so where/how? It is a long wheel based bike with ape hanger type handle bars and the distance from the brake lever to the rack in back is 89". I wanted to mount it on the cross bar of the frame but then the distance to the hub was well over the max of 39". Help anyone? Thanks Sombra :thumb:

You might have better luck on the Electric Bikes forum.

If the only problem is the amount of cable run, I've got to believe you can get longer cable and housing.

There is a restriction of 98" on the sum of the two cables and one of the cables cannot exceed 39". So if I need 89" that only leaves me 9" to go from the battery to the rear hub. The sum of my two cables needed is 102" with the battery mounted on the frame up near the handle bars. Also there is a console and sensor that triggers the throttle and actually acts as a hybrid and recharges the battery when you actuate the brake lever. I needed to have one of the cables going from there to the battery in order to use the throttle/hybrid feature. The long wheel base on the stratus was what was giving me problems. I have since figured out a way to do this. I will mount the battery to the back of the seat and then I only need 75" and 23" respectively for the two cables. Additionally, the sensor needs to be near the console but it only has to be attached to the brake cable and not the brake lever as I had been previously told. But thanks for the output!

Put the rear rack on that thing and mount it on the rack.

Thanks for the advice, I see you have a photo of what appears to be a stratus (I can't tell because it is so small and this computer has no picture viewing software except paint and it gets pixelated when I enlarge it). Also, perhaps you have a bionx on yours in the very same place (rear rack)? I made mounts for the back of the seat because 1) I need/want the rack to carry stuff (I am a college professor and want to ride it to work), 2) the rear of the seat has the mounts on both sides for a water bottle holder so all I had to do was make a bracket to mount the battery on it. I also have saddle bags that quick mount to the rack. Thanks again, Sombra

Ps When it is complete I will attach a photo too! :-)
