New guy, "into" bikes for about 2 years now. I road bikes as a kid, mostly cruisers but I had a 12 speed peugeot for a short while-- was stolen. Then I didn't ride a bike for another 20 years or so. Will be 35 next month and I'm looking at bicycle riding as a long term investment in my future. I smoked for 15 years, best thing I ever did was to quit smoking-- haven't smoked in about 4 years now. I look at cycling like that, went to the doctor and he told me my cholesterol was high. Commuting just seems to make sense to me after that.
Reduces stress, saves money, makes you healthier-- count me in.

Welcome to our world! Nice intro, by the way.
I'm glad to see you've stopped smoking too- you are on the way to better health in no time.
Take care,

Again, welcome to the forums, kurremkarm. It is great you have given up smoking and taken up riding...that is a great tradeoff and am happy you seem to be noticing the rewards of doing so!! (I can't smoke myself due to a very big allergy to it). So sorry to hear about your bike that was stolen...my first Cannondale was as well...the only one of 5 that was in my parents' garage that was one night way back in 2000. But, I was so happy to find one in a similar color, same year, and even better components on eBay earlier this year that I'm back riding one...I had figured I would never find another affordable one again (I wasn't crazy about spending $1000 for a new one right now, and in this area especially)...but ya never know what you will or can find online, tho I am spending some on upgrading and adding a few components!! :)
