Just a thought now....but look for an item to help her find where her stuff is. Coming out of the water is sometimes confusing and you get a little lost. An indicator such as a flag that would fit on a kids bike. An inflatiable item with helium. Bright yellow chicken is what I use.. my son uses a happy face that says here dummy. Try and think of something that only she would understand. belive me she'll want it.
