Howdy from Tucson!
Have used a Burley jacket with success; also Rainshield O2 Cycling jacket.
Both have pit zips, water/windproof. O2 comes in super dayglow yellow, great for visibility, about 80 bucks.
I've used the Rainshield O2 cycling jacket. I have the yellow, and I have to say, I'm impressed. The one thing I found frustrating was that it does rip easily. I had it a year before I accidentally ripped it, and that's a big money waster. :(

I think you can get the Rainshield O2 for much less, $36 @ Nashbar, and I've seen prices as low as $20 online. But, those might not have pitzips. I just use the regular Rainshield. In light rain the hood can cover the back half of your helmet, which funnels air down your back. Even without using the windscoop, I find the Rainshield to be much cooler to wear than my Jackson&Gibbens jacket. I can't wear that jacket much over 50F/10C, even with the pit zips full open, it is just too warm. On the other hand, I can't wear it much under 10F/-12C, as the chest vents work a little too well on certain parts of my female anatomy. Oh, and when you tear the Rainshield, just patch with another piece of reflective tape and improve your visibility at the same time. I do find the Rainshield to be the most comfortable, wide temperature range jacket I've tried yet. Of course it has been so satisfactory that I haven't tried a lot.

WHAT?? You need a jacket in sunny Tucson? I guess I won't be moving there when I retire. ;)
I use a RaceFace Aquanot. It's very durable (as most stuff from RaceFace is designed to survive crashes), has pit-zips, adjustable drawstring elastic waist, reflective piping and panels, fleece-lined collar and works well down to the teens (degrees F). I got it fairly cheaply on closeout from gear.com 5 years ago.
I'm going to try to get an Aquanot jacket this week.I hate getting wet.

I use nothing more than a Performance rain jacket with a hood. I use that jacket primarily as a cold weather jacket, as well as a rain jacket. With two jerseys and that jacket as an outer layer to cut the wind and cover my head over my balaclava I've ridden every winter in temperatures well below 0F.
The water proofing started to fade after a couple of years, but a good respray with some stuff from a camping store solved the problem completely.
