I know this is an Alt-bike, I posted a thread in there already but I thought I'd show you guys too. Don't worry, if it wasn't a Huffy, I'd have left it just the way it was!!

2 immediate thoughts:

1) The cable stretch will make the front brake feel as mushy as the back.
2) Even the down hills will feel like uphills.

You are absolutely right on both counts. Unfortunately, those are things you have to live with when building these silly choppers!

We tried that but it is really hard to maintain balance with so much weight up high like that. You have to come to a perfectly balanced stop and sit bolt upright. I think it will work with practice though.

If the captain doesn't get a nose bleed you may be on to something here and we'll all be doing new forks....
I can almost hear people calling Calfee now.. "Craig! Craig! I need a new for fork for my twicer right now!.. Got any of that bamboo stuff laying around that you haven't cut down into little pieces yet?
