yeah, right? But I figured it would extra crazy that day. I wanted to try it as long as I was down there, but figured it would be a bust.

One sorta bad thing about summer streets - it sure made me a little bummed this morning, especially when crossing traffic-choked Park Ave. at 57th.:(

Although this event is a tremendous inconvenience for me (I do a service route in the city every Saturday), I love it.
This past Saturday I never saw so may cyclists throughout manhattan and brooklyn.
I guess once people are out and about on their bikes they decide to go exploring.
I hope the success of this trial closure will make it a permanent event next summer.

Nope, it was a happy accident. I was taking pictures of the bridge itself and this guy was right in front of me.

Wouldn't it be much harder to pedal if you drag your wife along?

I think that depends on how many people you usually drag.

I had a great time again today. A few blocks from the Brooklyn Bridge, I met up with Caaah and two of her friends, all of whom were riding neat folding bikes. The ride was less crowded than last week, but we ride earlier in the day than I did last week.

Nick and Caaah, with moonwalk guy loking at emily's Dahon Hon Solo, a gorgeous bike.

Emily in Central Park. I'm not sure if the guy behind her just stepped in something nasty or is poised to moonwalk.

I can't remember her name - Beth? - we met her in Central Park, and she was with moonwalk guy.

We parted ways after lunch, and I rode the West Side Greenway down to 14th street and took the train back to NJ. I hope they make a regular thing out of this.

I was getting waivers signed and giving out stickers at some point if that helps. Otherwise, I was just another one of the guys wearing the dorky orange vests.:D
