Fifty Plus (50+) - Officaily 50 "+" today

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

That's 50 + 1
I would ride my age or something silly like that, but I have a long ride this weekend. So I am off instead to do intervals on my favorite hill to hate. My last actual training ride before this weekend’s event the Tour De Blast.

Best of luck with your goal . I hope to do a fifty one day or maybe my age before it gets too high . LOL I've got a birthday in a little over a week and I'll be 57 . I'm thinking maybe a goal of riding my age before it hits 58 would be a good one. kirby

Welcome to the club! You could always ride your age down the hill your training on. I'm 55 and have not been able to ride my age 'down a hill' for two years now, do it while you still can.:D

Happy Birthday! :bday:
I did my 50/50 ride last year the weekend before my birthday and this year I did a Metric Century the weekend before. Good luck this weekend. :thumb:

See you there (well, at the bottom, anyway -- we'll see how high I get)....looking like 30% chance of rain, but not much rain. As near as I can figure it will be in the mid to high 40's at the summit.

Maybe I can get up that much speed on this weekends ride. best I can do on my hill is 42. Too many tight turns so I can only let er rip at the bottom.

Oh come on you will make it to the top. I did it last year and I had just started riding in March of that year. The site talks up that 9 mile climb, but it actauly the one just before the top that was the most grueling for me. Just pace yourself and you will do fine.
The weather is looking better and better as the week goes on. I would pm you my cell #, but unless anything has changed up there coverage will be non existant. May as well save some weight and not even carry the phone.

Over here no one cares how fast you ride. We celebrate that you ride at all. That's what keeps us young.

Just one of the qualifications for the 50+ forum:)
I seldom ride my age on the actual birth-date. January doesn't have too many riding days in Ohio and definitely not enough to cover my age. I did my birthday ride last weekend.

It Started out as a ride your age ride- so for Bevererly and people others with Winter birthdays- You can do it any time.
Only thing is- wait another 10 years before you start boasting. Over 60's have a privilidge that we do not let the others know about. Just wish Dnvrfx would let me know what it is.

Makes no difference to me!
The real privileges start when you get 70+, which is just 1.5 years away for me.
I think Brian gives you a free lifetime red star at that time. Darn, I already have one.
Better ask Zonatandem!
Welcome to the 50's forum and congrats. I rode my age (56) multiple times and still have to do a century. I have few metric century under my belt though.
