After months of lusting, I took the plunge and got a 2008 Specialized Roubaix Elite Triple. Carbon everything, zertz everywhere, beautiful, light......sigh. Yes, my lust has turned to love and I couldn't be happier. I had a great bike store experience too, which was good since I had to travel 2 hours to get to the bike store. They did measuring, fitting, tweaking, swapping, extended test ride and gave me a good price to boot. And before anybody says anything, I'm aware of the photo rule so I will be posting pictures soon.

It's gonna be a great ride. I will probably convert mine from a compact double to a triple sometime this summer.
Your going to love that bike. I bought the 2007 model and it's a great bike. I just changed the saddle out on my for the Toupe and so far so good. Have fun, I know you will :thumb:
Congrats on the new bike and, your bike shop experience. Keep the rubber side down.

Actually, the bike does not yet exist, because he did not post a photo of it.

Proof is necessary- but it should really be an action picture. Either the entry into Club Tombay- or first climb up the 15% for 3 miles.

It would take me 1/2 hour to climb 3 miles @ 15%.

Plenty of pics coming then.
But that is 6mph- Pretty good average.

Here is a photo of the new bike. By the way, it's a 2007, not a 2008. That explains the great deal I got on it!

All of these new emoticons and no green-with-envy emoticon! If we had one, I'd post it.

Photo is still way too small. It looks great from what I could see, though.

I'm having trouble figuring out how to make it bigger. Any tips?

Take it you have it in your documents file and hope you have XP. Open the folder and there will be a menu on the left- one of which is "E-Mail this pic". E-Mail it and providing it is below 100? bs when it opens up in a new e-mail- open it and "save as" (What ever you want to name it) in a new folder. I keep a special E-Mail folder for 50+ and all the pictures in it can be attached to a posting
And it is one of the rules that you have to get pics of new bikes against the garage door. Unless the door is not wide enough.
Then we can see how well you maintain the door and hence what your Painting skills are like

Don't have a Garage door? You have problems- Where are you going to keep N+1 in the future? (Where N= more bikes than you can ride )
Take a 20 mile ride to a Cafe- and post pics of the 3 slices of Pie you had.

Those brifters look like they're positioned incorrectly. From the angle of the picture I can't tell whether it is just the handlebars which need to be rotated downwards or the brifters have to be shifted down on the handlebars. Something is not right, though.

Yup. Ya better hurry up and ship that bad brifter beast to me and go out and buy yourself
another one properly set-up. :D
Seriously, enjoy trying to wear it out.

Think its the bars rotated up to give more height
More expense- New high rise stem on the cards.
Saying that- I set the OCR up with a higher stem to bring the bars up- but now have the bikes with the bars well below the saddle. As the body adjusts- The bike will be adapted.

For uploading photos I recommend PhotoBucket. It's super easy to use and it will size them at something like 600X480 (or so). Perfect for bike porn.

Yep, the bars are rotated up. The bike guy suggested I ride for a couple hundred miles, then come back and see how my body feels. We can readjust then, if necessary. I'm going from flat-bar to drop-bar, so I wanted everything a little higher. Swapped out the step for a different one, too. I'm heading out for a ride now!

MMMmmmmmm :o))
One of the guys in the club has one..You WILL love every moment on the bike.
If it's durace or ultegra 10cog you WILL find yourself wondering how you ever did without those evenly spaced ratios.
The fit kit did wonders for my riding style on my venerable 91 Paramount and it was the first thing I had done when the BikesDirect Motobecame arrived.
Help on the photos!
The last two times I tried to upload photos of the Moto or-on the vintage site- the Signature I got 'reee jected. Too large.
These photos were taken with the Canon A560 digital (vs a std. camera)
Any suggestions ?
Great bike! Congratulations. My Ruby was also a 2007 model. Smooth as silk! You'll be a very, very happy rider. :)

Upload them to a site like Photobucket first. Then it will resize them for you. It's a free account and great place to keep photos online.;)
