My commute yesterday
Bicycling - leisure 1,638 Almost half a pound Yeah!? (I know I know it doesn't work that way but I can dream)
210 minutes. downgraded to leisure since I ride a recumbent and even if I go fast it is leisurely :D

That how long to lose 1lb is depressing. 448 minutes! Even walking 3mph is faster they riding my recumbent :(

While it is neat---to me thats a bunch of jibberish calculations.

I always get a kick out of my "ideal" body weight. I havent been 152 since before high school and my high side of 168 hasnt been seen since my sophmore year of collage. I managed 170 during a lowpoint in my life a few years ago when i worked out alot, but i have been 200-225 before that period and since.

By leisure they mean less than 12 mph on the flat. If you're going faster than 12 mph or have any hills you're burning more. I ride a 'bent too. The rides are comfortable but not leisurely. From comparing heart rate measurements between the too I know I burn significantly more than when walking

I use dailyplate.com for tracking meals, though sometimes I can't find the exact info im looking for. Reading "The Hacker's Diet" and using physicsdiet.com to track calories (built using the info from Hacker's Diet) and weight daily is cool-it figures it all on the running average so as long as you weigh daily and the average trend line goes down, you are losing. Helps ease the pain of those spikes every so many days that can be really discouraging.

Hackers Diet was written by the guy that wrote AutoDesk (programmer). Always bigger, lousy diet, little exercise, weird hours, lots of stress, etc. All that stuff they tell us to stay away from to lose weight. Good read. He approaches it as a physics/science problem, not so much focusing on the niglies of eat this or that, just eat less overall.
