Steephill is reporting that Frank Schleck suffered no injuries after that crash. Unbelievable.
Here he is kissing his lucky charm:

he was interviewed at the finishing line and he was fine. He barely had a scratch. he said he would be stiff tomorrow but that was it.

wtf happened? You see him clipping out almost likes he's trying to put a foot down. Mechanical?
Did his back wheel start to slide out, and he straightened up trying to recover?

Just look like he misjudged corner, went in a little to hot. The guy behind him you can see broke much earlier.

Indutrain did the same thing once in the Tour but he made it.

A little target fixation there? Damn. Uninjured or no, you know that scene will wake him up for a few nights.

I'm imagining him falling into a bed of moss and ferns with naked virgins all around... Upon landing he was fed a grape and giving a rub down.
Incredible.

I love the Flemish commentary. I can't understand any of it but it rules :)

for a pro tour bike racer f. schleck isnt exactly bike handling wizard, his crash at lombardia last year was very cat 3 like. glad he's OK, by the looks of that it could have ended very badly.

he was decending terribly the whole race. he was all over the place. He just took that turn too wide and put his foot down to try and stay upright.

Yeah, but he's a long way from the guardrail, and it doesn't even look likes he's turning sharply when his foot comes out. With all the room he had it would appear he could have made the turn, or at least laid it down in a fashion where he stayed on this side of the guardrail and lost a little skin.
I'm thinking something mechanical happened, or he hit something in the road that made his wheel slide unexpectedly.
Otherwise, he looked like a deer in the headlights.

nah i doubt it was a mechanical. you should have seen his descending all day.

Oh man - and you know those guys in the second group come along, see the bashed up bike by the rail and the motorcycle crew looking over the rail and can well guess what happened...

It's a feeble attempt humor by quoting, of all people, Larry the Cable Guy.
Basically, in my mind at least, the call by that Flemish cycling commentator is simply priceless.
Now that I've had to explain that pathetic attempt at wit, we return to our regularly scheduled BF programming...

wait, shouldn't Jose Perez, being quoting Carlos Mincea? Beaner.

German announcers have a man-crush on Schleck, the likes of which haven't been seen since Armstrong left the peloton. I think Phil still cries himself to sleep some nights.
This isn't the first time they've been fascinated by Schleck.
