Happy new year all. Just registered hope you can help. Our family resolution for the year is to do some biking together. I will be pulling 2 yes 2 five year olds. About 75 lbs. I will be buying a trailer but am concerned if they will attach with my bike (Marin) having disc brakes. Anyone have any experience with this?
Thanks
I have an InStep Turbo Elite trailer and a Kettler Silverstar bike with drum brakes. The hitch for the Turbo Elite will fit any imaginable bike, either with nutted or skewered axels. I don't see why disks should present a problem.
This is my first day in two weeks that I have not been pulling the trailer, as school has begun and winter day camp has ended. My daughter continues to absolutely love riding in the thing.

Depends on the trailer's hitching mechainism. Burly's universal hitch may not work, as it may not clear the brake. Instep's hitch has a piece that attaches to the axle, then the trailer tounge is insterted into the hitch. Trek and Adams has a different hitch that clamps onto the chainstay. Shop around and see what will fit.
Yeah,I think Dan's nailed it: it depends.
Our Yakima trailer is not compatible with discs, since it clamps the frame at the back of the rear triangle and conflicts with the disc. The standard Burley mount is similar. Other trailers, and the alternative Burley mount, use a mount right onto the axle itself and won't pose a problem.

I forgot the alternate Burley mount. Burley is probably the best you can buy. You're in the clear.
Adams sells a tandem trailercycle www.norco.com/adams for when the twins get too big for the trailer.
