Hey guys and gals...I'm looking for a new wheelset and I've heard good things about the Easton Circuits. Does anyone know how they'd hold up in a cross race? Thanks

I have a set of these, and I like them a lot, but because of the threaded spokes, when I did break a one, it was a huge pain. The only place I could get a new spoke was to order them directly from Easton. None of the shops in my city carried them stock, so none of them were able to repair it for me. Basically, short of buying a whole new wheel, I had three options:
-Send the wheel in to Easton, and have them repair it
-Take it to a shop and let them send it in to Easton
-Order parts and a repair kit from Easton, and do the work myself.
I wound up doing the work myself, but it was not easy, and the whole ordeal cost me about three weeks without the wheel and something like $30. If I had sent the wheel in to Easton, it would have cost about $100-120 (IIRC), and who knows what markup the local shop would have put on.
Really though, to answer your question, I don't know how they would hold up offroad, because I broke the spoke by foolishly putting heavy panniers on the wheels, and ever since I have used these wheels unloaded on road only. I don't want to risk having to replace one of those spokes again.
To sum up, I love the wheelset when they are healthy, they are nice and light and the hubs spin beautifully, but if something goes wrong, it's a pretty big hassle.

Are you buying used or old stock? The Circuit has been replaced with the EA70.

I can get some of these for $280 at my LBS, which alone makes them tempting.
For riding onroad over expansion joints, pavement lips, etc. will these hold up? I weight #185 and will be running a 700x25 @ 100psi on my rear wheel. No rack or load other than yours truly and I usually get out of saddle for the worse pavement defects.
