Road Cycling - new bike

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.
I am considering a couple of bikes, a trek 1000c or giant ocr3.
Would like some feed back on these or similar priced road bikes. $700 max.
Also my LBS sells Sun, but I haven't found much about them on here.
I am 6'3" 275 in fair physical condition. I work out 3-4 times per week.
thanks

Bicycling doesn't have to be expensive. I would urge you to consider the bike in the link above. While I've only been on the trainer with it so far and can't comment on its road comfort, you're likely to find it has the equivilent ride of other aluminum compacts (like the OCR3 you're considering). I considered it a solid value.
On the negative side, you have to ballpark your size and then pay additional money to get fitted to the bike by your LBS. Also, you lose out on the "free tune-ups" that some LBS offer with the purchase of a bike. Finally, the wheels aren't quite as nice as I would like and I will likely put another $150 into the bike to get Mavic Open Pro's on Ultegra hubs (which will be far better than the stock wheels on either the Trek or Giant you're considering.
BTW, that $500 price included shipping and a "pro build" (see their web site) and required some negociation.

You're not saying what you want to do with it. You can test ride a lot of bikes for that price range. Try the Specialized Sequoia, also. People in my club that have them love them.

As for the SUN bikes, they're of poor quality and best regualted to rental fleets.
