Anyone know if its possible to raise the handlebar height on a 2008 Dahon Jetstream P8? Just got the bike and have determined the handlebar is about 3" too low for me, and thus riding position is awkward (I'm about 6' 2"). The stem does not appear to be adjustable like many Dahons. Thanks for any help.

I just recently got a Birdy, and have the same issue. One (expensive) option is to get a Syntace VRO set. You can get them from Thor USA: http://www.thorusa.com/dahon/accessories/handlebar.htm
It is also listed on the Dahon homepage, but doesn't appear to be for sale: http://www.dahon.com/components/xp/radiusvro.htm

I say expensive, because for your $48 you only get an additional 30 mm (just over 1").

You're probably better off getting a riser bar of some kind, if you can live with the fact that most of them have a slight sweep backwards..

Due to the suspension fork the Jetstream has a shorter handlepost than the othe rbikes . The Jetstream already has syntace clamps on the stubbyies which are welded on the handlepost ( same system as the Speed TR Mu Sl and others which come with the syntace handlebars.....

easiest modidfication would be to get a handlepost from a MU SL or Speed TR .....

second easiest would be to get an adjustable handlebarpost ( and the stem) from any othe Dahon model ... in that case, if you like to keep the syntace stem, you need to find an old handlebar and cut it off and use that stubby for the syntace to clamp on to

Hi Thor-thanks for the information. Can I order the handlepost from the MU SL from you, or do I have to go thru Dahon?
