So Scott spent all this money and time to make a cute carbon cross bike, and then they put the brake cable under the top tube? Dumb.

yeah, a lot of modern courses seem to lack a section where shouldering is absolutely necessary, or at least significantly faster. which is a shame imo, because it takes out a dimension of cross racing that makes it unique.

Just a thought, but maybe the cable is routed somewhere between 4 o'clock and 5 o'clock on the top tube, if you get what I'm saying (so it's still out of the way, even just barely). This other photo certainly doesn't confirm that but maybe ... just maybe they didn't do something quite so bone-headed as it seems.
