Damn you Vanilla Soy Milk!! Why do you have to taste so good?!?! Is 1/2 gallon in 4 hours excessive consumption?

Switch to unsweetened vanilla soy milk. That will fix the problem. I drink mine unsweetened,and plain, fwiw.

Hmmmm ... unsweetened, yet vanilla flavored? Who might make such an enticing combination?

Westsoy. Where I live, I don't even need to go to a health store to get it. The supermarket down the street carries it.

Thanks, I'll look into it although looking at the label on each product (mine is "8th continent Vanilla soy"), it looks as though I may not have to sacrifice flavor.

Here's the 8th Continent label;

and here's the Westsoy label;

The 8th Continent has fewer calories per serving, less fat, slightly higher carbs and sodium, but higher calcium. Seems like a wash AND I can possibly continue to enjoy the flavor.

Here's the plain 8th Continent soy milk (fewer total carbs);

Hi,
you asked a question. I answered it.
Of course it's less flavor, there is no sugar. But it does have more soy; which is what I get soymilk for. You can get used to the flavor; and it will help control those sugar cravings that brought this up in the first place.

Thanks for the advice! Yours does indeed have more Soy and will be worth looking into (if only to allow me to moderate my intake).

Compulsively,

It is a drink vaguely like milk made from soy.

geneman, check the sugar content differences. When you're ready (and I don' say that lightly because I know how good 8th continent is), you should switch to Westsoy. It's easier of your glycemic index (no peaks and plummets). They also make an unsweetened chocolate.

That's an interesting point. Just comparing the plain 8th continent to the Westsoy from above shows that the 8th continent folks put suger in their "plain" soy milk. It's certainly feeding the addition. I'll be sure to pick up some Westsoy first chance I get.

Thanks!

I absolutely love Silk. The chocolate is like heaven. I'm Lactose Intolerant so I needed a non-baby formula tasting drink.

1/2 gallon, huh? Don't you get a little, er, ah, airy in the intestines? I can't handle more than 1/2 cup at a time.

All the better to propel me down the road .... pffft!

(in all reality, it doesn't effect me that way)
