Bicycle Mechanics - Best ders for 7s?

I'm setting up a relatively inexpensive, yet highly durable Flatbar roadie/townbike. Bombproof Durability is the key here.

I'm using an old steel Peugot frame with eyelets, but no der hanger setup. If I can find a clamp on adapter, I want to use a der better than the cheapie 7s Tourney ders. I was thinking about the Alivio ders, since they supposedly work good for a 7s freewheel.

Any suggestions on what the best derailluers and SIS shifters may be for a 7s freewheel system?

I've had a stock Alivo setup on my Jamis Durango for going on 14 years now. Beyond replacing the cable, it's been rock solid.

I'm also looking for a good affordable crank to match up with it. Something good for 7s, and durable. Specifically, I want to find a triple with more of a high end big ring, like a 48 to 50, for riding around mainly on roads, and down big hills at higher speeds. I hate spinning out at 30mph.

Bombproof durability? You've already shot yourself with the freewheel rear, might as well put the claw type tourney rd on it. They're fine. Alternatively go singlespeed. No derailleur or shifter to worry about.
