G'day,

I'm thinking of buying a new road bike to replace my old Trek 2100. I have been looking around different bikes such as Specialized, Giant, Avanti, Trek, Cannondale, Felt and so forth and have recently stumbled across GT ZR series.

I know GT was a well known brand from their mountain bike / BMX past and have briefly dabbed in roadbikes before US techshop operation went belly up, so the 2004 ZR series are now Taiwanese (no problems there) and it comes with decent equipment.

Currently considering a GT ZR 2.0, full 105 '04 spec with Mavic Cosmic wheels, Ritchey parts and Continental tyres. Will be buying it stock unmodified.

Have done a search of the forum but I can seem to find any reviews on GT ZR bikes - anyone has any ideas, experience and opinions? I'm all ears.

:) My first good road bike was a gt zr 2000. It was and still is an excellent road bike. I have upgraded to a TREK carbon poastal edition, but my significant other rides the gt now and loves it. Good luck.
