using a burley?

Greetings,
I am looking to purchase a folder to use for camping trips and occassional trips via air flight. Does anyone have experience using a particular folder model with a burley trailer? Will any model connection of the burley hitch to the bike frame like a regular sized bike, or are there specific models that are best to have? Suggestion/comments are welcomed.

I have a 2000 Burley D'lite. Its not so much the trailer you should look into, but more the two attachment options. The standard attachment fits in the reart triangle stays of average mountain bike and road bike.

The second type of attachment is quick release. I can only use the quick release one with the DT, or the birdy.

So its not the model of the trailer but the type of attachment you employ. Good luck

I don't know if the 2008 models come with both or just the triangle one. In any case, you can buy the quick release attachment seperately.

Thanks for the response. I do have the triangle end piece that skewers down to the frame. So, it sounds like I need the quick release connection. where does it connect - near the wheel?

I pull a 2006 D-Lite with a Dahon Matrix. The standard hitch doesn't work; I got the skewer hitch (the one with the quick release). That works fine.

Unfortunately not. The bike's in the shop with the hitch on it, and probably will be for another week. Sorry!

It's just a skewer with a connector on it. It replaces the skewer in your back wheel.

The classic Burley triangular hitch works with my Tikit.

It isn't ideal. The hitch is pretty far forward on the chainstay and my ankles hit it sometimes. The newer hitch design would work better.

The triangle hitch works on my Xootr Swift with no problems and no interference.

creaturely, I'm probably about to buy a Swift, with the intention of towing my kids in a trailer. Any issues you can think of? Thanks.

Honestly, I've had no problems. I used to hitch the trailer to my semi-roadified mountain bike, and I fancy I can feel a bit more feedback from the trailer on the Swift (its push and pull from the rear) than I could on the larger frame. But it doesn't affect my stability any more than it did before. I was pulling my little guy at a pretty good clip the other day, and feeling good about the setup.
