Dang......another ultra-warm day today. I went for a short ride (6 miles) and almost had a heat stroke. :p
When winter hits us, we will have several really chilly days and that will be about it. You gotta love east Texas!
Don't gloat. It's unbecoming.
I fired up the snowblower today.

It is warm here today, too, Vicki. I have already been for a long ride.
Happy cycling in this warm winter!
(Gloat all you want, Vicki. That is what he gets for living up north!)
Um, I don't know if you southerners know what winter and its extension winter cycling are. According to my dictionary, winter is a great terrible beast with icey fangs and breath that can numb and kill you. A few nuts( us winter cyclists) brave winter by speeding right towards it for thrill, appreciation of its beauty, or a religious-like conviction that we are doing what we need to do for our environment and community.
I applaud you and anyone who ride anytime and anywhere, but you'all will have to come up here to do some winter cycling. Then you'll be able to descibe the most extrodinary adventure of your life, on our little old site right here.
Winter isn't starting here until today! We're supposed to get 6" of snow by tonight.
Yesterday was +12 C or about 48 F!!! I went for a short ride up the escarpment to visit my sister, drink tea and eat cookies in celebration of the end of non-winter. Forecast for Thursday calls for low of -20 C, -4 F.
+19F in beautiful downtown Everett this morning :(
My people have eighteen different words for snow.
Sixteen of them cannot be used in mixed company.
We're having a good old winter storm today. The snowplows aren't keep up with it. White-out conditions and cold. The weatherperson is calling for 6 to 8 inches of snow before it's over. I guess I'll get to use my snowblower in a little bit. It is currently 25F (-4C) with a windchill factor of 12F (-11C).
It's a good day to stay indoors.
Damned cold here, and more snow expected within 36 hours. 70F sounds lovely!

Damn, only 68 degrees today..hehe.
It IS supposed to get chilly by tomorrow though. Might get down to 35 degrees by tomorrow nite, but then will be back up to 70 degrees by Friday.

Perfect for riding nekkid!

A lot of us don't know what a 'real' winter is, and that's just the way we like it. :p
Among the reasons I live here, one of the most important ones is the fact that I despise cold weather that lasts any longer than a day or two. I guess the warmer climate and extended riding season helps to balance the hassle of dealing with 'Truck Bubbas' and the like on the road. There's good and bad to every situation, I guess.
Y'all bundle up now, ya hear? :D
Well even though we are not used to such cold weather lucky for me I spent 10 years back in Cleveland so I know cold. It was nice to ride since there was no one out driving today and since all the ice and snow fell to tthe north and south of me I rode around the Everett area this afternoon for about an hour running erands and just trying to freeze my arse off. Didn't work had a blast got a l,ot of strange looks from people and my barista says I'm crazy. I thought she already knew that :D
Everett 15F as we speak

sigh, about 3 years ago, my wife shanghied me from Marin County where we saw snow only a couple times in ten years, to this slice of frozen paridise, Little Siberia. Usually I revel in the horizantal down hill skiing that I get on two wheels, through backstreets of Minneapolis, but there are times when I'd rather have the predicabile moderate weather, and not have to bother with life and death conciderations, just to get to work.
It's forcasted to go below 0F the next few mornings, and I'm just not looking forward to the commute. If Jack Frost nipps at my fingers nose and toes one more time, I just might loose them.
10°F
Mostly Cloudy
Feels Like 7°F
:(
Ms. Vicki, I told you I'm coming down in March. By then, I'll really be sick of all this cold weather. Rode 50 miles on New Years's Day and 50 miles on Saturday. Had chills so bad on Saturday, I had to ride around in the parking lot at the lunch stop to get warm. Also, so much mud in the chain and derailers, I had to use my water bottle repeatedly to get the mud/salt out of the drivetrain at the lunch stop. Enjoy yourself, I'll be thinking of you when temperatures reach 100 in Texas, and we are at a pleasant 80 degrees up north.

Yeah, sometimes it gets up to 110F in the hottest part of the summer. I feel like I will smother when I step outside. I spend a LOT of time in the pool during those times!
It is chilly today, 32F right now, but supposed to get back up to the 70's by Friday. No wonder people stay sick around here during this time of year.
Tell me details of when and where you will be in March, outashape. It should be positively balmy here by then!
-28F here the last couple of days! We have not been above ZERO in almost a week. Also a foot of fresh powder!
To heck with 70F, I'd be happy with 25F. Still get to play in the snow on the MTB, but warm enough to really have a good time. :)

I aggree!!!
Yesterday morning it was -28 degrees at my house. The door of my jeep was frozen shut and it was in the garage! Today it's much better at 4 degrees and we are expected to get 10 inches of snow. Yeah, I love snow!
Not sure of the current temperature, but it's damn cold and ice pellets are hissing from the sky non-stop. Not looking any better for tomorrow at this point either; if anything, it may be worse. We're home, holed up with some DVDs, 'fortified' coffee, and sundry baked goods. We'll enjoy it while we may, because if the freezing rain begins and ices up the power lines, we'll be livin' primitive. Reading via candle-light, how cozy!
