Bicycle Mechanics - lock ring question...

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. I'm getting a new bike today with a flip-flop hub on it. The Fixed side is ready to go, but the free side has nothing on it. I ordered a Surly freewheel to throw on it. From what I have read and understand, I don't need any other components to get the freewheel working, right? A lock ring is only for the fixed cog. Can someone confirm this for me? Thanks.
You are correct, no lockring needing for the single freewheel side. It will just thread on like a normal freewheel.
