Broke my collarbone and the radial head of my elbow 9 weeks ago and have added some unwanted weight.

I began riding a stationary bike at the gym this past week (post op pain and work have prevented this until now) and I'm wondering if there are any nutritionists, doctors, or people who've gone through this themselves who can suggest the best way to loose the weight.

I'm concerned that reducing my calories will impact healing while not reducing intake won't lead to weight loss (and even with exercise it seems like my body will steal calories to burn during exercise potentially at the expense of healing). Is this only a concern if I'm starving myself (e.g. sub 1000 calories/day)?

Eat healthy, take your minerals, drink milk if you can, and get your clavicle healed. I kept running and cycling, my clavicle never healed and had to have a plate and bone graph (much more painful than the clavicle). You aren't riding on the road now so don't worry about gaining 5 or 10 pounds. Lose the weigh once you are back on the road
