Had the BB replaced on my Lemond so I had to try it out today. 21 mile hilly ride. Got an early start. Finished at 11 am so it was only 90 degrees by the end of the ride. Been to the mall and it aint that cool, so we just stayed home with the AC on low and a fan to conserve.
Watched a Rambo DVD (great in surroundsound). Cuddled and ate a few Popsicles in as little clothes as possible. Ok, I'm hot again!:roflmao2:
How you coolin off?:innocent:

At work I opened the doors to one of the big freezers where we keep all the sandwich bread (I work in a sandwich shop) and let the temp drop to 50 in the bakery... it was awesome, but then my boss came back from the store and I had to close them.... I was funny cause he was REALLY confused as to why the bakery was so cold.

I was rolling out from home (Santa Clarita...35 miles north of L.A.) at 9am and the temp gauge on the bank's sign read 90-degrees. We got to Encino (our destination) a bit later (11am) at 101-degrees. Topped out yesterday at 114 Coming up the I-405 out of the Valley.
Yuck.

I live in Texas, I think it was 85 degrees at 9:00 AM, easily.
I think moving to Alaska has some merit.....................

I hate it here in TX. If I'm not out riding at 7 a.m., forget it.

Going over a hundred degrees for our clubs' annual double century. I'm in the buff in front of a fan while I am posting.

Stories like this make me glad I moved far-far away from Toledo, OH.
Toledo, OH: High 83F @ 95% Humidity (70% chance of thunderstorms).
Superior, CO: High 85F @ 15% Humidity (Sunny with slight overcast).

Around here, it hasn't been hot, yet, a couple of days where it managed to get to 32℃/90℉ although earlier this week it barely made it up to 18℃/65℉ for about 3 days, I think it got up to 23℃/74℉ today with 75% humidity, so cooling hasn't been the issue..... Rain has, the forecast for the next week is going to be rain, every day but Tuesday :notamused:

Deal with it. Everybody else has to suffer as well. What gets to me is when some people bi**ch and moan about this oppresive heat and how they have to ride in these conditions. Then they get to work and go inside the air conditioned building hang out by the watercooler and tap away at their keyboard. STOW IT! I do construction work outside in the heat and dust, hauling my 300lbs. Wearing carhartt overalls 8" work boots, saftey clothes ,40 lbs of tools. Oh yeah, don't forget the matieral that i'm installing. No elevators no mercy no complaining just shut up and get your sh*t done.

Nah people are still allowed to complain just because it doesn't agree with you personally. Might I suggest, if you don't like your field of work, maybe find something different.
Finally, I worked hard to get my job in an office where I type alot (5 years of college with dual engineering degrees).

Wow, was my post a B&M? I thought it was an "It's hot, what are you doing to keep cool" topic. Don't worry, I've done y share of workinging a steel company,115 degree heat, steeel toes and climbing 7 stories while carrying buckets of chains to repair the line. It's just that I'm alot smarter now and don't do it for a living anymore.:thumb:

Upland was only 90 at 11:00 on the 20th? Damn, it was 103 here.
I sweat to cool off and when the sweating stops I just pass out. :thumb: j/k
When temps get over 105 I will put a mister with icy cold H2O in the Camelbak along side the bladder and then run the hose from the mister up and into the helmet or hook it to the pack so it sprays on the back of the neck and drips down between the pack and my back. In those high temps the water in the mister stays super cold for about 2 1/2 to 3 hours.
Other then that just regular hydration and a jump in the pool when I get home. I use to just ride the bike right into the pool until I started spending my own money on my rides ;)

Staying cool was not a problem for us yesterday:
http://keithmo.com/Biking/Rides/2008/IronHorseTrail/Small/DSCN0573.JPG
This was on the Iron Horse Trail, near the summit of Snoqualmie Pass. It was just a small patch of snow covering the trail, but it made for a cool picture :).

It's not too bad right now but it will get worse very quickly. I'm taking up surfing next summer, no joke. Now that I live in TX, cycling is going to be my winter sport.

Naw not a B&M, I take the train to work and the B&M drives me nuts. I had a lady tell me "well when it gets bad you can just go inside" inside of what? The building aint done yet. Yeah I had to go to school too 5 years of apperentice training. It was pretty tough to get into school 800 people 48 spots.

Yep :)
That area had record snowfall this past Winter, so it wouldn't surprise me if it takes another few weeks for everything to melt (despite the comfortable short-sleeve temperatures at that altitude).

+1 by the time I get back the heat factor is around a 100. My son lives down here and he talked me into moving here. There is a lot of times I wish a were still north. Then I would complain about the cold winters, I suppose.
