Both the Common Crit and the Maillot Jaune have been cancelled. Per my calendar, there aren't any 'real' races in July now.

Michigan Racing has really fallen off. Funny, 90's when we had the TDM ect, all riders did was ***** about the courses, purses, ect.

Yeah, it's a bummer. Michigan summer is prime time for racing, and we've got nothing.
If we're lucky, we'll do yet another race at Waterford Hills. ugh.

Why were those races canceled?
I don't see much for the rest of the summer past Rockford and the Wolverine Time Trial.

There's two crits on the west side of the state in early August, the Hines Drive TT, Tour de Via Italia, and the Debates-Devos (sp?) crit to round out Labor day.
It's a real shame - Michigan probably has the best summer in the US, and we don't take advantage of it.
I've heard a rumor from the Hagerty guys that they'll put on a mid-September Traverse City race... which should be fantastic; but it won't happen until next year.

Why were those races canceled?
Maillot Jaune - don't know why.
Common Crit - not enough course Marshals/support (and hints at some other reasons).

For those of you guys close to the boarder of ohio, check out some of the races down here. There are some pretty nice races down here.
Next weekend there are 2 crits down in columbus at the tour of grandview, as well as another one somewhere else in ohio (but they are timed so you can't do both in one day :( )

E-mailed the organizer from last year (who wasn't supposed to be the organizer this year; but I figured would still know).
