Hello my name is Jayson and I'm a Clyde:D

I just got tired of being fat and feeling like crap.So I quit smoking two weeks ago and started to eat healthier.Yesterday went to the local LBS,Summit City in Fortwayne Indianna, and got myself a Cannondale Synapse 6T road bike after trying out several others. They have an awsome staff there!

Today I rode 6 miles in 26 minutes at an average of 12mph. I felt tired and a little winded after but it felt great to be on a bike again. My goal is to ride at least 25 to 30 minutes everyday for two weeks before I start to push myself a little more.

Also thanks for this forum and to those that post their stories on this forum for encouraging me to ride, and get myself in shape again. I'm 5 '11 and 260 and 36 years old I will also keep you posted on my progress.

Jayson

Those are nice bikes. If I had not gotten such a good deal on my CAAD, I was probably going to get a synapse.

6 miles is better than no miles! I just got my new (to me) ride the other day and im pampering it, checking pedals, tires, rings, cables, etc. Im also just coming off my first 48 hours of antibiotics for Strep after missing three days of work last week, so my new purchase is just hanging there, in the garage....waiting......

I rode it last week with 6 months of training.

Welcome Jayson and congrats on your new way of thinking! This is so exciting, isn't it? I'd like to get out and ride more (I've gotta lose some poundage myself) but this past week the weather has been over 100 degrees.....:(

Go Jason Go!! great plan...30 minutes a day is awesome... Also - Great job quitting smoking. Be sure and drink a ton of water on and off the bike...Just keep flushing thos pounds a way and soon you will be even sexier than you already are!

My first ride was 3 1/2 miles, and it just about kicked my @@s. You are off to a great start!! You will be surprised how quickly you will get up to 10 or 20 miles. I did a 33 mile ride one month after my first ride.
