Electric Bikes - Think Bike

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

Does anyone have an opinion on the Ford Think Bike - are they any good?
There is one for sale locally.
I did a quick search looking for a product review, but not much luck. I believe this is no longer in production and am wondering if parts, batteries are still available?
Thanks for any feedback.

Thanks - just what I was looking for.
Sounds like any signifcant bit of elevation rapidly depletes the battery and the purported 16 mile range.
Are there other types of E-Bikes that have improved on this?
My commute is easily within this 16 mile range and without much elevation, however I would be annoyed if it couldn't get me there and back if a few grade changes caused it to crap out.
thanks much!

I'm no electric bike Guru but I am enough of a techie to know there have to be better batteries. It has an off-bike charger so you will have a problem going somewhere at the limits of its' range. Just a guess but it sounds like something to keep in the truck in case you run out of gas.
