Bars on my conversion are regular chopped and flipped road bars. I feel like I want to reach out more but just don't have enough bar length. Will real bullhorn bars provide me the additional reach? Any other advantages/disadvantages?

the added bar is useful for climbs. also looks better in some cases too

They are under $20 on Nashbar, just buy some and see how you like them.

I wanted bullhorns but didn't want to spend the money if I didn't have to, so I chopped and flipped some drop bars. I personally hate they way they feel and got some actual bullhorns which are exactly what I wanted. Much more reach and much more comfortable, at least in my case. If bullhorns are what you really want definitely get a legit pair.

i rode flip and chops and i like them. i then got the nitton rb 021 and i really love them. i like the way they look better as well

nitto rb-018s are great - highly recommended. I spent the extra money & got the heat treated version.

I have half a set of flipped and chopped FSA K-Wing Carbon bars. But only because they snapped.

OK thanks for the advice, I'm going for the real deal. So now the question is the nitto rb 018 or 021. Zero drop or some drop. I suspect I'd go for the wider bars, but can't decide on having a drop or not.

it was partly a joke. I've seen flipped and chopped easton bars, but i actually do like the look and feel of flipped and chopped track drops for riding on the street

the rb21 don't have much top bar space if you like to spend most of you're time there. The drop is too severe to make it comfy to put your hands on for a long time. I'd say go for the rb18s since you'll be basically having the same flip and chop profile but with more top bar space (even though the amount of horn you get looks like it's almost the same as flop/chop). i'd recommend syntace bars with 0 degree drop or 200mm drop because it allows you to put brakes on the ends of it cleanly
